Welcome to the new studio! It’s a work in progress where creativity abounds. Many of my original paintings - never seen at the market - are on view.

The first painting workshop at the new studio will be Tuesday, October 23rd, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon.
On Wednesday, October 31 we will have an “On Location” workshop at the park by O’Learrys. To register for a workshop call or e-mail me.

Three morning workshop package: $100.00

Private Lessons: $20.00 an hr.

Meet Gretchen and Veronica…Birds from Paradise

Gretchen and Veronica are sculptures created from palm fronds, shells, leaves, spanish moss and other natural "stuff" found in Sarasota. They came to life when they got all dressed up! Gretchen and Veronica, along with several other "Birds from Paradise" are looking for a home. Art Lessons
Can you visualize yourself with paints and canvas sitting by the water creating your own painting? Whether your answer is "Yes" or "No" you CAN paint. It just takes desire, knowledge of a few skills and practice. Call or e-mail me if you'd like a lesson. Private lessons are only $45.00 for an entire morning.

Second Chance - Last Opportunity
Tomorrow evening is the benefit dance for Second Chance - Last Opportunity. SCLO serves North Sarasota and the young people struggling to better themselves. Learn more about the organization and come have fun at the Cinco de Mayo dance celebration held at Mattison's Forty One from 7:00pm - 10:00 pm. Advance tickets are $15.00 or $20.00 at the door. I have tickets and you can pick them up at my Farmer's Market booth Saturday morning.

Sunflower Painting Workshop

Not only did Van Gogh paint sunflowers. You can too! Beginners to experts are invited to make a blank canvas come alive with a burst of wonderful sunflowers. Build on techniques you’ve already learned and learn new techniques. Beginners to experts are invited to join the fun.

Works in Progress:
New jacket! If you like pockets you’ll love this new “one size” fits most pocket jacket. So far there are 10 pockets on it! Maybe it will be finished by Saturday’s market.

The “Ray Bellamy” painting is progressing. Painting a picture of a football player is something new for me. It’s a very fun project. Do stop by the market and see how it’s coming along.

New Commission: When the Breakfast House on Fruitville Rd. opened Wendy, the owner asked me to do a painting of it. She uses the painting on the menus and business cards. As you enter The Breakfast House you’ll find the original painting to the right just inside the door. Wendy is opening a new restaurant in Nokomis called The Tree House and she has asked me to do a painting of it. So… I’m sprinkling fairy dust on my brushes and painting a very magical painting for her.
Don’t forget to stop by the market and say, “HI”. We’re open until 1:00 p.m. during season.

Create your own painting! Beginners to experts will have fun while learning to express their creative side. This year the art workshops will have a new twist. Each workshop will have an art style theme. We’ll start with “Primitivism” in October, move on to “Cubism” and conclude the year with “Surrealism”. In 2012 we’ll experiment in pointillism, impressionism, abstract art and more. Make your reservation now as class size is limited to 10. Workshops will be held at the Gulf Gate Apartments Club House. Save when you sign up for a series of three workshops.
